Bringing Care to her Community

Meet Leara – A True Legend in the Making!

With a strong background in hospitality and admin, she joined our Employability Skills Training (EST) program online and soon discovered her true calling in community services.

With guidance from Facilitator Shelly, Leara sharpened her digital literacy skills, gained confidence through mock interviews in class, and began actively searching the local job market. It wasn’t long before she successfully landed a role as a Support Worker at a local Indigenous aged care facility.

But she didn’t stop there! Leara is now pursuing a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability)—with full support from her new employer, including paid study time and increased hours to support her placement requirements.

Here’s what Leara had to say: “I absolutely loved the EST Course. I learned a lot. Being given the opportunity to learn new skills in updating my resume and cover letters, interviews and ideas for learning new information and transferrable skills via online short courses and microcredentials was really valuable for me. I would totally recommend the EST course to anyone, as a learning experience that is also fun.”

Huge congratulations, Leara! Your journey is inspiring, and we’re so proud to be part of it.
